Hong Kong dieters warned against craze for swallowing live worms

Women Paid 10 Cents to Sew $80 NFL Peyton Manning Jerseys





This article is harsh, but it's almost comical at how greedy those corporations are. 


NFL jerseys have been sewn under illegal sweatshop conditions at the Chi Fung factory in El Salvador for at least the last four years, according to a new report by the National Labor Committee.  Often forced to work 12-hour shifts, workers were at the factory 61 to 65 hours a week, including 12 to 15 hours of obligatory overtime, which was unpaid.  The workers were paid a below-subsistence wage of just 72 cents an hour, which meets less than a quarter of a family's basic subsistence needs for food, housing, healthcare and clothing.

Secret memo reveals offer to help topple Saddam before 9/11


Tony Blair offered British support to join the United States in overthrowing Saddam Hussein six months before the 9/11 attacks, it was revealed last night.

A top-secret Downing Street memo, Iraq: New Policy Framework, (says that Saddam’s weapons of mass destruction would be used as a reason to take “direct action” against Iraq.

US fails in Iraq and now seeks a truce with the Taliban


Days earlier, the Nato commander in Afghanistan, General Stanley McChrystal, also signalled his belief that four years of hard combat with the Taliban would ultimately be ended by a political deal.

"As a soldier, my personal feeling is that there's been enough fighting," he told the Financial Times. The sentiment was ­echoed last night by the US secretary of state, Hillary Clinton.
